Dundee Culture has reached over 50,000 visitors on Facebook in the week beginning 9 April – something that has never been done before.
Approximately 51,031 people have visited Dundee Culture’s Facebook page in this week alone so far – which has never been done before in the history of Dundee Culture on Facebook.
This sudden increase is primarilly due to the Team Tayside coverage Dundee Culture has provided from 4 April onward – and after Dundee cyclist Mark Stewart won gold as well as Sofia Ramzan’s balance beam performance video being released on to the Facebook page, that gained the attention of a combined total of over 49,000 people on the page.
On average, Dundee Culture gets an audience of 25,000 – 30,000 per week and has not peaked past the 41,000 mark – which previously was a record of visitors in one week.
Founder and Admin of Dundee Culture, Andrew Batchelor stated:
“This high rise of visitors on Dundee Culture’s Facebook page will likely decrease by the next week or so as there is certain posts that gain a sigificant amount of attention by visitors as they may be popular on Dundee Culture and if they are, they are then shared on by the visitors who like the post.
“These figures however show that Dundee Culture’s average visitor count is inveitably rising”
“At the end of 2015-16, 15,000 – 20,000 visitors had visited Dundee Culture on average. By mid 2016, that raised to 20,000 – 25,000 visitors on average and by late 2017, had raised to 25,000 – 30,000 visitors on average.”
